This and that...

Well, fall has arrived (crossing fingers ) in Phoenix. It is below 100 and overcast today with a few sprinkles here and there, so it feels like fall. Hopefully this week we will be able to turn off the air and use the evap instead. Huge savings.
How is everyone else feeling about prices these days? Everytime I go to the grocery store things have jumped in price. I am trying to figure out a way to be more economical and am having a hard time. WIth DJ moving back in, my grocery bill is going to explode. It is only until Jan. so I can deal.
Kristin is another matter. I don't know when this girl is going to grow up and be responsible. She has been doing better since meeting Alex, but she called again last nite for us to pick her up because she didn't feel well. She had too much to drink and was sick and wanted to come home. So, off we went at 3am to get her. Thank God she knows she can call us and we will gladly pick her up.
Last weekend was another thing altogether. She hadn't been drinking and was at a party with her friend. Jamie and Kristin left the party to go to some guys house that Jamie knew to play beer pong. After being there for only a bit, and not drinking they wanted to leave. One of the guys had taken Kristin's keys from her purse and noone would fess up. They kept telling her she must have lost them or locked them in the car etc. They sure didn't know who they were messing with. LOL. Long story, short version. She called us to bring her spare key, the police were called by guys, we show up, police are there. 6 guys lined up on curb, 3 officers, Kris and Jamie walking around. No keys. One of the officers has finally had enough and said in no uncertain terms, that if he didn't have her keys in 2 minutes, someone was going to jail. Guy goes into house and comes out with keys..........hmmmm. The next day, Kristin told us that they had given her and Jamie each a pill to take, but they put them in their pocket. I wish she had remembered when the officers were there, they were roofies. Those bastards were planning on taking advantage of, or who knows what to those 2 girls. Thank God she is smart enough not to take anything. And that they didn't drink anything there because something might have been in their drinks.
Thankfully my 3 other children are much more responsible, or I would be completely gray!
I had an appointment with my rheumatologist this week to discuss what my pulmonolgist said. He doesn't seem to think we need to panic at this point. Yay! He wants to talk to her and another Dr. who is the most informed dr. in the country about my disease. He said we will do more testing first and that there is a drug they are using now that isn't toxic like chemo and is showing good results. So I feel alot better about that. Thats it for now..........

Love the elephant!
Sorry that you have to live through another child attempting to make the transition....it is one of the toughest parts of parenting - isn't it?

I am glad that Kristin was smart enough NOT to take that pill or drink anything there. Why are some guys such idiots?
