party day

We celebrated my moms 80th and my dd's 19 th birthdays today. They share July 19 as their day.My sister , her new dh and their 2 boys were here, My brother , his wife and their 2 children were here. My older brother came. His wife finally got out of the hospital this week. She has been there since March 24. My outlaws came, and then there were the 6 of us, 2 bfs and a girlfriend. I orderd 5 large pizzas, 72 wings, and we had an oreo cheescake from the cheescake factory and a carrot cake from the bakery. All that is left is 1/2 of a pizza, about a dozen wings and 3 pieces of cake.We had a lot of fun. There was a disaster before everyone came. We heard a wind gust and then a crash. I had a big market umbrella that stood in a 60lb granite stand and the pole went thru the middle of a glass table. The wind must have cracked the umbrella and when that fell it toppled the table and smashed it to pieces. We still havent figured out exactly what happened, but I had to run out and find a new talble and umbrella. I like the table alot. It has 9 ceramic tiles, so if they break I can replace them. The umbrella is going back to the store tomorrow. When everyone was leavign my mom pulled me aside and said thank you honey, this is exactly what I wanted for my birthday. I had a chance to visit with everyone and it was so relaxing. I am glad that I listened to her and not my sister who had wanted to go to a very pricey resturaunt. This way EVERYONE got to come, and the kids swam and played, It wasa great day.

Kristin had a casita on Thursday for her birthday. There were no disastors....Thank God. She did, however get really sick. I truly think that she is somehow allergic to vodka. She shouldnt even be drinking, I know. When she drinks vodka, she gets violent stomache cramps. Frankly I don't feel sorry for her anymore. She knows the consequences and continues the behavior. I do help her still. I lay with her and rub her back until she starts to feel less pain and fall asleep. I am praying that she will knock it off soon.

Don has to have some minor surgery to have moles removed tomorrow. That is where I will spend my afternoon, with my new HArry Potter book.

Teresa,
Sounds like the birthday party for your mom and Kristin were a lot of fun! I'm so glad the glass table shattered BEFORE the guests arrived.

I'll be praying your dh's minor surgery goes well.
